Dick Frankel Biography Dick Frankel is an advisor and cofounder of Provisdom Corporation, providing over 40 years of experience in commercializing high technology companies. During that time Mr. Frankel founded or cofounded nearly a dozen companies including seven high-technology startups, four of which are still active: Provisdom Corporation, Ice-tex, Nanosolar, Inc. (www.nanosolar.com), and Mydax, Inc. (www.mydax.com). The other three include: Microsemiconductor, Inc., which was formerly a NYSE corporation and is now traded on NASDAQ; Nuclear Science & Engineering Corporation, which was purchased by ICN Pharmaceuticals, also a NYSE company; and Kevex Corporation, which Mr. Frankel took public onto the NASDAQ, served as CEO for 21 years, and later sold to a subsidiary of British American Tobacco, Ltd as a result of a hostile tender offer. Mr. Frankel holds a BS in Industrial Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is currently Regent Emeritus of Santa Clara University and was formerly Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Leavey School of Business of the Santa Clara University. Mr. Frankel is also a former Director of the American Electronics Association. Mr. Frankel served in WWII with the US 9th Army in two European campaigns. He is a long-term member of the US Naval Institute and the Naval Foundation Leadership Club.
